GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Blue Bridge in Grand Rapids is purple for the next three days for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Accompanying the display is an event to highlight the voices of domestic violence survivors.

Beyond The Color: Illuminating the Voices of Survivors runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at New Life United Church of Christ. That's located at 1841 Havana SW in Wyoming.

Come for an inspiring and entertaining open door event illuminating the voices of survivors of domestic and sexual violence through art, music, and spoken word. Refreshments and resources will be provided.

Eileen McKeever from the YWCA of West Central Michigan and Lesley Coghill with the Center for Women in Transition spoke about the upcoming event with WZZM 13's Jennifer Pascua during the Noon News on Monday, Oct. 17.
