Husband in Kent County jail on suspicion of stabbing wife

Prosecutors are deciding what charges a man will face after allegedly stabbing his wife this morning in their Wyoming home.

WYOMING, MICH. - A 30-year-old woman went under surgery for a stab wound, while her husband sat in the Kent County jail.

Police responded just before 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, to a home in the area of Glenvale and Oakvale drives on a report of an ongoing domestic situation, according to a Wyoming Department of Public Safety news release.

The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police arrested her husband on an assault charge.

Authorities have not yet identified the couple.

The Kent County Prosecutor's Office is expected to review police reports and issue a more formal charge later.
