Wyoming (WZZM) - Metro Health will offer heart screenings to students in mid-May.
The Metro Health Sports Medicine and Metro Heart and Vascular are teaming up to hold the screenings at the office on Cascade Road SE for free. Metro Health began offering the service back in 2012.
The screenings are for students between ages 14 and 18. Students will have to answer general questions about their health and then doctors will give them an EKG, which looks for problems with the heart's electrical activity.
If the EKG shows something abnormal, the student immediately gets an echocardiogram. In total, the screenings take about 20 minutes.
Space is limited, only the first 230 registered high school students will receive the screening. To reserve a space, you can register online by clicking here. If you have any questions, call 616-252-1540.
