Police: Infant's 'suspicious' death being investigated, mother arrested

WYOMING, MICH. - Police in Wyoming are investigating a 6-month-old boy's suspicious death on Wednesday.

The mother, 22 year old Lovily Johnson,0 has been arrested and now is facing charges from the Kent County Prosecutor's office. 

She faces one count of felony murder and one count of child abuse in the 1st degree. Both of these charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison, according to the Kent County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Becker. 

Police say the baby's mother took him to the emergency room at DeVos Children's Hospital around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday -- the baby was already dead when they arrived. 

Police believe the child died on McKee Avenue SW, near 26th Street SW. 

The baby's mother was taken into custody late Wednesday night and jailed at the Kent County Correctional Facility.
