Suspect in Wyoming murder found with victim

Wyoming Police say they have a man in custody for the overnight murder of a Grand Rapids woman.

WYOMING, MICH. - A 31-year-old Grand Rapids woman is dead and a man is in police custody as they believe he is responsible for her murder.

Officers responded to an apartment building near Burlingame Avenue and 44th Street SW just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, on a welfare call, according to a Wyoming police news release.

When police went inside, they found her dead, determining the cause of death as a homicide.

A man also was inside the apartment, police said. He was arrested and currently is sitting in the Kent County jail.

Police did not say how the woman died nor any connection between her and the man. The victim's name has not been released pending notification of family, and police have not given the suspect's name.
