Wyoming police seek driver in hit and run that left pedestrian in serious condition

Police looking for hit and run suspect

WYOMING, MICH. - Police in Wyoming are looking for the driver who ran over a pedestrian on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of 31st Street SW.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was walking across 31st Street when he was struck by dark gray Chrysler 300 traveling eastbound. The car dragged him approximately 25 feet before coming to a stop.

When a witness rushed to the victim to help, the driver drove over him and fled southbound on Byron Center Avenue.

Witnesses say the Chrysler also had three passengers inside.

The unnamed victim is listed in serious condition at a local hospital after suffering a head injury and abrasions to his torso and limbs.

The incident remains under investigation.
