Wyoming shooting suspect wanted; victim, witnesses not helpful

WYOMING, MICH. - Police are asking the public for help in identifying a shooting suspect when witnesses and the victim seem to be reluctant to assist.

Wyoming police responded to a shots fired call around 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, to Chicago Drive at Lee Street, where they came across a rented limousine bus, according to a news release.

Officers learned the suspect and a 24-year-old victim got into a fight on the bus, causing the driver to pull over. After the bus pulled to the side, at least two shots were fired and the victim was hit in the hand.

All riders and suspects then ran away from the bus.

The victim was found about four blocks away, but he would not help officers; police said he attempted to run and fight the officers instead. Witnesses and the victim only provided vague statements about the incident to police.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Only a basic description of the suspect is provided: a man in his mid 20s, 6-foot-tall and stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wyoming police at 616-530-7300 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
