WZZM 13 to expand noon newscast

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- WZZM 13, the Gannett-owned ABC affiliate in Grand Rapids, MI will add a half hour of local news content to the weekday daily noon broadcasts. The noon news will run until 1 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 27.

"We are thrilled about expanding this extremely popular newscast", says Janet Mason, President and General Manager of WZZM 13. "Our viewers will now have the opportunity to enjoy more of their favorite local news and weather during their lunch hour," she adds.

Longtime news anchor Lauren Stanton and meteorologist Aaron Ofseyer will hold the helm of the extended broadcast. Stanton is an Associated Press award winning Journalist and has been a leading source in the West Michigan market for more than 14 years. She is a Michigan native and proud graduate of Central Michigan University. Aaron Ofseyer is a graduate of the University of Hartford and came to WZZM 13 from KEZI in Eugene, Oregon in 2011. Stanton and Ofseyer are honored to have such loyal viewers and excited to expand this coverage to an hour.
