Man thrown from car

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - UPDATE, Dec. 5: A 33-year-old man from Grand Rapids has been identified as the driver in the crash. The charges are still pending while the Traffic Unit meets with the Kent County Prosecutor's Office.

Grand Rapids Police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash.

ORIGINAL STORY: According to GRPD, it all began near 4th Street and Stocking Avenue. After the initial crash, one of the cars tried to get away. Someone inside of the car that was hit jumped on the hood of the car that had crashed into them. The fleeing car then hopped on WB I-196 and rolled over, throwing the man on the hood from the car.

The man who was thrown was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to recover.

The driver of the car that rolled took off on foot.

Police do not have a description of that driver but if you saw or know anything about what happened, you're asked to call GRPD at 616-456-3400.
