Man with gun poses for photo on Ferris' campus, spurs lockdown

BIG RAPIDS, MICH. - Ferris State University's Department of Public Safety officers are looking for the man who posed with a gun while on campus on Saturday, Dec. 2.

According to the university's website, at 2 p.m. a man holding a hand gun was seen in a Snapchat photo -- possibly with a Ferris student.

The photo was reported to Ferris police after 5 p.m.

As a precautionary measure, the university temporarily locked down the University Center, the Student Recreation Center and all the residence halls on campus. It was lifted later Saturday evening.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the community, however, they are still looking for the person who posed for the photo.
