Student pilot crashes plane into Lakeview field, dies

LAKEVIEW (The Daily News) - A student pilot died this evening after crashing a private plane near the Lakeview Municipal Airport.

According to Assistant Airport Manager Roy Matthews, Kevin Malarney, 47, of Ada, was practicing flying when the plane crashed into a field.

The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bale and Schmeid roads just east of Lakeview.

Malarney's two children made it to the scene before rescue workers.
