Grant, Mich. (WZZM) - One man had to be airlifted to the hospital after a crash in Newaygo County left him pinned under his truck.
The force of the accident was so great that the bed of the pickup was thrown off. The crash happened at the intersection of 112th and Gordon, northwest of the city of Grant at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Investigators say a Chevy Suburban with two men inside were heading north on Gordon, but didn't stop at the intersection. The pickup truck slammed into the SUV, causing the truck to roll over and the Suburban to fall on its side.
The man in the truck was pinned under it. He was airlifted to a Grand Rapids Hospital. One of the two men in the SUV was also pinned in. Both were taken to Gerber Hospital. We don't know their conditions at this time.
Deputies on the scene say gas began leaking from one of the vehicles after the crash, but it wasn't enough for rescue crews to worry about.
