MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) A school bus driver from the Morley-Standwood school district in Mecosta County was cited for careless driving this morning after his bus went off the road.

The accident happened around 7:25a.m. near Garfield Road East of 175th Avenue.

The driver, Allen Ambler, said he stayed on the right side of the curving roadway and as a result the passenger front tire went off the road and into the ditch.

Police say Ambler tried to regain control of the bus but was unable to stop it from going into the ditch.  There were 15 children on the bus when the accident happened but no one was hurt.

The driver was cited for Careless Driving.
