Motorcyclist dies after crash in Plainfield Township

Fatal motorcycle crash

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MICH. - A motorcyclist has died after being involved in a crash with a pickup truck.

It happened on April 8th, 2017 at around 6:45 p.m. at Rogue River Rd NE near Woodwater Drive NE in Plainfield Township.

Witnesses said the motorcycle was headed eastbound on Rogue River and for an unknown reason drifted into the westbound traffic lane and was struck by a pickup truck headed westbound.

The driver of the motorcycle, Jonathon Harden, 25, from Sand Lake, died on scene from his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, Ryan Dargie, 40, from Rockford, was uninjured. The front seat passenger of the pickup truck, Crystal Dargie, 35 from Rockford sustained a minor hand injury.

It is believed that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. 

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this crash.
