Muskegon Heights resident optimistic for future of neighborhood

Opportunity and optimism in Muskegon Heights

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MICH. - Reverend Pearson with the Buhler Missionary Baptist Church says "New Heights: Restoring a City" was exactly the way he remembers Muskegon Heights.

He's lived there for as long as he can remember, and is proud of how far the area has come. He said in order to continue the growth in Muskegon Heights, it's important for the community to stick together.

"The Heights is a beautiful place to live and I see folks move out saying trouble here and there, but there's trouble all over. Until men, women, boys and girls in the community come together and recognize one another as brothers and sister in Christ, regardless of where you go we're going to have that problem," Rev. Pearson said.

Pearson believes there's a definite difference between years ago and its current conditions. He said Muskegon Heights is on the right track.
