Nassar case moves toward trial in Eaton County

CHARLOTTE, MICH. - The criminal case against Larry Nassar in Eaton County was sent to circuit court at the end of a hearing on Friday.

District Court Judge Judge Julie Reincke said that three reported victims who testified were "very credible" in issuing her decision to send the case forward.

Nassar faces seven counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Eaton County, which all relate to his former role as a doctor.

In all, Nassar faces 25 charges split between state and federal courts.

He faces three child pornography charges in federal court, which each carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

He faces 15 sexual assault charges in Ingham County, 12 of which relate to his role as a doctor. All 15 of those sexual assault charges, along with the seven in Eaton County, are punishable by up to life in prison if convicted.
