MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - Airlines service between Muskegon and Detroit Metro on Delta ends Wednesday. The service is being replaced by a Muskegon to Chicago O'hare route on United.
Airport managers say the number of seats out of Muskegon will double with United and that should translate to lower fares for travelers. At the airport today signs were being changed to prepare for Thursday. O'hare provides business and pleasure travelers with twice as many non-stop destinations as Detroit.
The first flight to Chicago leaves early Thursday morning. The airline has a two-year commitment to Muskegon.
