HOLLAND, Mich (WZZM) -- Soccer fans in Holland filled downtown bars Tuesday afternoon to cheer on the Netherlands in the team's World Cup semi-final match against Uruguay.
Fans dressed in Dutch orange have frequented the Curragh Irish Pub for the last three weeks as the Netherlands team advanced in World Cup play.
The crowd cheering the team on Tuesday included some transplants from the Netherlands and a Dutch couple visiting the U.S.
"I hope they go a long way," says Anita Hall of Holland. "I hope they can win the World Cup."
The manager credits the World Cup for a spike in morning and afternoon business.
"The games are in South Africa, so early games and then afternoon games have been great for us," says Glen Behan, general manager of the Curragh.
The Netherlands beat Uruguay, 3-2, in the semi-final match. The Dutch team advances to the Finals, and will face the winner of Wednesday's match between Germany and Spain.
