
One man died in an accident on I-196 Westbound Saturday afternoon. It happened near Chicago Drive in Grandville just before noon.
Police say the driver of the car, 50-year-old David Snyder of Grand Rapids, tried to change lanes, but another car was beside him.
Snyder overcorrected, lost control and rolled down the embankment before hitting a tree.
Police say Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 51-year-old Marlyce Snyder who was the passenger in the car, went to the hospital. She is currently listed in fair condition.
