GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) - Quixtar is suing 30 people who anonymously posted disparaging remarks about the direct-marketing company in blogs and online forums. The suit filed in Ottawa County asks for an injunction and damages of more than $25,000.
Quixtar also wants permission to subpoena various online companies so it can determine who posted the materials. The company believes the postings are part of an organized effort by former distributors.
Quixtar develops and manufactures nutrition, beauty and cleaning products that are marketed in the United States and Canada through a tiered selling system. Parent company Alticor is based in Kent County's Ada Township.
