Lansing - People convicted of sex offenses against children could be banned from Halloween activities under proposed legislation in the Michigan House.
Republican Rep. Fran Amos from Waterford Township introduced the measure, which is now in the House Judiciary Committee.
It would ban sex offenders from giving candy to trick-or-treaters. The measure would even order them to keep their residence's exterior lights off on Halloween. Violating the terms of the bill would be a parole violation.
