Do you want to know exactly why you are paying more than four dollars for a gallon of gas? You'll have a chance to have your voice heard this week at a gas conference.
Wayland middle school teacher Aaron Wissner organized the conference called International Conference on Peak Oil and Climate Change: Paths to Sustainability.
The conference is being held at Calvin College and more than 40 speakers will talk about the peak oil theory, global oil production, water issues and land use.
"We've probably reached the maximum rate at which we can extract oil from the earth and it probably won't be too long from now when that rate actually starts to decline and that will really impact the prices," said Aaron Wissner, organizer of the conference.
The conference is designed to bring together business leaders, politicians and environmentalists who can answer your questions about the rising price of gas.
The conference runs next weekend from Friday to Sunday. To sign up or get more information, click on Newslinks.
