GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - A Wyoming man faces charges for allegedly sexually molesting two elderly women at a nursing home where he worked.

Twenty-six year old Daniel Nathan Griswold is charged with criminal sexual conduct and gross indecency.

The alleged crimes occurred at Rest Haven Homes in Northeast Grand Rapids in the spring of 2008.

Rest Haven Administrator Brian Wilson says Griswold turned himself in to police last month and then confessed to Wilson. Wilson says, "I think I was mostly in shock. I told him that. Again, I reminded him that at Rest Haven, it's like saying my grandparents were assaulted. I mean we're a very small home, a 25 bed facility, in our nursing home. This is my family; it's not just a place that I come to work. So, it's a personal affront as well as you know, professional."

Wilson says Griswold cleared a background check before he was hired as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Rest Haven. Wilson says Griswold quit abruptly about a year ago, citing personal reasons.

State regulators conducted an investigation at the home. That study is not yet complete. Rest Haven did its own internal investigation as well. Wilson said they did not find anything they could have done significantly differently to prevent the attacks.

Both of the women who were attacked were elderly and had memory loss. One is now deceased, the other still lives at Rest Haven.

Griswold has a court hearing scheduled for Monday.
