IONIA, Mich. (WZZM) - One teen has an interesting story about his first car. For a few days, it wasn't underwater.

As Rob looks at the video we shot of his car, which is marooned at the Ionia County Fairgrounds, he wonders if it was damaged by the flood. "When I left it, the water...wasn't even touching the tires."

Rob just bought the car last week. "It wasn't expensive, but it was what I saved up for to get. I used my graduation money I got from my open house. I have PLPD, so if my car's toast, I'm out $1,700, plus my stereo and stuff."

Rob took his "new" car to the B-93 Birthday Bash this past Saturday. He parked it in the designated parking lot, which runs right next to the Grand River. During the concert, the river rose from the storms that hit Friday night. Hundreds of people found themselves wading through floodwaters to get to their cars. There was no way out, so they were told to come back in six hours.

"When we came back, they wouldn't let us cross the bridge," says Rob. "So, I couldn't get any of my stuff out."

Rob and the others have been waiting ever since. The water continued to rise.

The concert's organizers are trying to decide what to do. "Everybody's pointing the blame and I don't know who's responsible for it," says Rob. "But someone has to step up eventually."

But, until someone does, Rob is without a car. He's been relying on family members to get him to and from work. He just hopes that when he does get the car back, someone will pay for the repairs.
