
ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- 23-year-old Jeremy Sobczak-Obetts was killed when the car he was traveling in left the road and gutted a nearby tree. The 26-year-old driver survived with minor injuries.
Police say it's likely alcohol played a role in the accident.
The driver of a white Acura RDX SUV was traveling north on Honey Creek just south of 2 Mile when his vehicle slid off the road and collided with a tree. The vehicle was split in half.
Emergency crews were notified by neighbors who reported a loud crash. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The name of the driver has not been released.
