MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM)- Some hairstylists from Norton Shores traded their hairbrushes for hammers this morning to work on a Habitat for Humanity Home. The family of a local Gulf War veteran is expected to buy the home, in Muskegon's Jackson Hill Neighborhood, when it is finished later this fall.

Today the team from Pompa Do's Hair Salon did their best to make that family's dream a reality. The ladies own the day of hard labor as a prize after raising almost $600 in a Habitat fundraising challenge. The salon's involvement was spearheaded by its owner Alecia Loughridge who says, "I've always been a firm believer of the more you give the more you get."

The stylists did some mudding, worked on the siding and helped build a deck.
