GRAND RAPIDS, MICH - It's officially cold outside. Really cold. And it's gonna stay that way until the Spring. So, today's One Good Thing is a local business making sure kids stay warm this winter.
Wendy's recently wrapped up it "Coats for Combos" drive. Donate a coat for a kids, get a free combo meal. Throughout four different Midwest markets - including West Michigan - they raised close to 13-hundred coats from 65 restaurants.
Most were donated to local schools, like Sibley Elementary in Grand Rapids... and Glenside Elementary in Muskegon. In Holland, the coats went to the Holland Rescue Mission.
Now remember, they collected nearly 1,300. Impressive on its own. More so, when you realize their goal was only 600. This has been their most successful year for the program.
And, it wasn't just Wendy's. They partnered with West Michigan Spartans, Duckett Enterprises, and Miller Johnson Attorneys. So, "One Good Thing" to all of them for the "Combos for Coats" drive. And to everyone out there who donated. We should be able to keep kids warm every winter.
