The effort is called "Operation Black Sheep". The Mark-II P.B.R. boat is being restored to a condition similar to when it was used in the war, The restoration work has been going on for months at Muskegon's Mart Dock. There are only 33 in existence in the United States. This spring members of Operation Black Sheep hope to begin taking veterans and members of the public out onto Muskegon Lake. "Water is therapeutic for me," said Robert Bowyer, Operation Black Sheep founder. "I sat down with a couple of friends and we had this idea, and here it is six-months later and it is a reality." Over the winter volunteers will need to complete major engine work in preparation for late spring or early summer tours. © 2018 WZZM-TV CONNECT TWEET LINKEDIN GOOGLE+ PINTEREST JOIN THE CONVERSATION To find out more about Facebook commenting please read the Conversation Guidelines and FAQs Leave a Comment TRENDING VIDEOS WZZM Live Radar WMU graduate Matt Mika shot at congressional baseball practice Mother's boyfriend blamed in death of boy Grand Rapids beating victim President Trump: Suspect in congressional baseball shooting has died Tree falls on girl at Grand Haven Park Woman receives 7th OWI conviction Rep.
