Churches hold special election day service

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - A group of West Michigan churches held an inter-faith event Tuesday, to offer prayers for the country on election day.

Life Stream Church in Allendale was just one of the eight congregations that hosted the worship service at noon at Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids.

Dozens of people took part in the event, which also featured music and messages.

One of the worshipers says it's important to put faith and country in the right perspective on election day.

"It's an important day. It's a privilege to vote, but there's a lot at stake. I think the nation needs a lot of prayers, so I wanted to be here for that," said Teresa Hundley.
