Michigan lawmakers look to regulate fantasy sport, introduce new bills

LANSING, MICH. - Michigan lawmakers introduced bills Thursday, June 5 that would regulate fantasy sports in our state.

House Republicans Jim Tedder and Aaron Miller co-sponsored the legislation. The bills affirm that fantasy sports services like Fan Duel or Draft Kings are legal. They also ensure that prize money is accessible to players at all time and they prohibit any fantasy sports tied to college or high school events.

A dozen other states have passed similar legislation.

The bill now goes to the House committee on regulatory reform.
