Bill introduced would outlaw dogs on drivers laps

Dogs on laps while driving

LANSING, MICH. - A Michigan lawmaker does not think drivers should have dogs on their laps while behind the wheel.

Tuesday, Democrat State Representative LaTanya Garrett from Detroit introduced a bill that prohibits anyone from operating a motor vehicle while a dog sits on their lap.

It would be a civil infraction. Violators would have pay a $100 fine for the first offense and $200 for any other offenses.
