State Rep. Afendoulis announces bid for State Senate

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - State Representative Chris Afendoulis, a Republican from Grand Rapids Township, announced that he will be running for the 29th District State Senate seat.

Afendoulis, a former Grand Rapids Township treasurer and trustee, was elected to Michigan's 73rd House District in 2014.

"It has been an honor to serve our community in the House of Representatives," Afendoulis said. "Our state's comeback has been impressive, but I want us to be even better in the future than we are today."

The Senate district that Afendoulis would be representing if elected would cover the City of Grand Rapids, the City of East Grand Rapids, the City of Lowell, and the townships of Ada, Bowne, Caledonia, Cascade, Grand Rapids, and Lowell.
