HUDSONVILLE, MICH. - Heading out to the pumpkin patch this weekend? You've got a great crop to pick from.
From apples to blueberries to cherries, the spring and summer growing season have produced supreme crops this year. The pumpkin crop has been no different.
" It seems that we've had more than in past years," says Cheryl Morales, manager of Post Family Farm in Hudsonville. "In part the timing of the spring and the planting and the rain and everything worked really well, so it's the best looking field we've had in awhile."
Morales did say the early crop suffered somewhat in thanks to the heat and humidity that persisted this fall, but the long-range pumpkin crop has done well.
Post Family Farms grow 88 different varieties of pumpkins and hope to have pumpkins available until October 31.
