HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM)-- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney ended his 5 day, 6 state bus tour on the sunny, soft sands at Holland State Park on Lake Michigan.

"Michigan if you vote for me, if Michigan gives me the win, I'll be the next president of the United States," Romney told the crowd of about 400 supporters.

With temperatures in the 90's, many in the crowd were dressed in beach attire. Mitt Romney wore a button down shirt and khakis, but in the crowd it was flip flops, shorts and swim suits.

"I figured this is the beach and this is what we wear to the beach," said Mark Bakker, explaining his swimsuit.

Jessica Mertz was in a bikini.

"I'm trying to get some sun," she laughed. "For these things you are supposed to dress appropriate and nice, but you are at the beach so I think it's acceptable."

With his wife, Ann, at his side and the lake at his back, candidate Romney made the promises he hopes will get him elected President.

"If I'm President job one is to get good jobs for the American people," he told the cheering crowd.

And his supporters ate it up.

"It was exciting," gushed Sue Headworth. "I really wanted to hear what he had to say. It was a really exciting event."

"I think he's our future president," said supporter Diane Ade.

As is his custom, at the end of the rally Romney spent almost as much time shaking hands and signing autographs as he did speaking.

"Good to see you and thanks for your help," he said as he moved down a line of supporters, signing whatever was offered.

"My mom really wanted his autograph,  so I'm really glad," said Sue Headworth, holding up a signed picture.

"This is an experience you don't get to have all the time," said Robert Ellis, who exchanged a few words with Romney.

"I told him, 'God bless you, we are praying for you'," said his wife Phyllis Ellis.

Before boarding their bus to leave, Mitt and Ann Romney walked down the beach and got their feet wet in Lake Michigan.

"Anyone who hasn't seen the Great Lakes just can't believe how fantastic this incredible lake is," said Ann Romney.

Holland was the last stop on Mitt Romney's 6 state 5 day bus tour.
