Thousands of fans driving to the Electric Forest Music Festival in Rothbury.

ROTHBURY, Mich. (WZZM) -- Thousands of out-of-state travelers are heading to Oceana County -- and music is the reason.

A steady stream of ticket-holders slowly made their way through security Thursday to head into the Electric Forest Music Festival. Many were lined-up when the campground opened early Thursday morning.

Other than some minor tweaks, the event should be similar to what the crowd of 13,000 experienced last summer.

"I heard the Sherwood Forest is amazing," says Nicole Duffy, who traveled to Rothbury from Florida. "The line up is to die for -- two nights of String Cheese, with Big Gigantic closing it out."

"Best festival I have ever seen," says Bryan Milsap of Tennessee. "The trees are great. There is a special vibe, and the people are incredible."

Music began Thursday on the festival's five stages. The event runs until early Sunday morning.
