136th Avenue & New Holland Street. (August 16, 2012)
HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich (WZZM) - Two people were seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash north of Holland. The accident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 136th Avenue and New Holland Street.
Ottawa County Sheriff's Deputies say a pick-up truck, driven by Andrew Nienhuis, 28 of Olive Township, ran through a stop sign and collided with another pick-up truck. Both vehicles ended up in a ditch.
Emergency personnel had to remove Nienhuis from the wreckage. He was transported to Holland Hospital with serious head and facial injuries. The other driver, Jack Vandermeulen, 57 is also hospitalized with similar injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The accident remains under investigation.
