Letter surfaces saying Baby Kate is dead

(LUDINGTON DAILY NEWS) - Sean Phillips apparently wrote a letter from prison to Ariel Courtland July 16 about their infant, baby Kate, whom he is incarcerated for "unlawful imprisoning."
The baby has been missing since June 2011 and police have said they are now investigating the case as a murder.

In the letter, if it's determined it is from Sean, he stated that on the last day Kate was seen, Sean was mad at Ariel for leaving her phone in his vehicle and when he tried to get to the phone realized it was blocked by Kate's carseat which he apparently hadn't realized was in the car.

The letter states he ripped out the carseat from the back seat and threw it as hard as he could.

"She was thrown from it," the letter stated. "I don't know. I'm so sorry. I held her for a long time. Seemed like forever. Maybe an hour, maybe a minute ... "
