MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - Member of the Royal Corvettes of Western Michigan are pleased Chevrolet is releasing an all new Corvette in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. On Sunday January 13th the world will officially know what the 2014 Corvette looks like.
Spy photos showing, what is widely believed to be test versions of the car, have been available for months on the internet.
Royal Corvettes of Western Michigan club members recently held their November meeting at a Muskegon area pub.
Conversation at their monthly gatherings often turns to the new Corvette which is known in car circles as the C-7. Club web-master Bob O'Connor of Grand Haven is impress that more isn't known about the new Corvette, "Everything is very hush, hush." O'Connor says he expects a bold new car that doesn't look like the current model, "I think it is going to be more radical than what we have today."
Auto analyst with I.H.S. Mike Wall believes the car will keep the traditional Corvette lines that it's been known for over the last 50-plus years. His best guess is that Chevrolet is putting most of its efforts into making the car lighter, faster, and more fuel efficient, "I think lots of changes under the hood and under the skin."
In the weeks leading up to the auto show Chevrolet is unlocking glimpse of the car on the web-site www.one13thirteen.com. The next video is available starting Thursday November 29th.
