MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A plan that could move the Muskegon Farmers Market to a new location is facing strong opposition.
City commissioners heard details of the plan Monday evening from the Downtown Muskegon Development Corporation. The group believes the farmers market should move from Yuba Street to a central location downtown.
But even without further details a group called Yuba Love has formed to keep the market at its current location.
"It is one of the few things in Muskegon that is working. It is successful. It is not accumulating debt," says Brian Clincy, a Yuba Love supporter.
In the past decade, two other attempts to move the market from Yuba Street have failed.
