Renovated South Haven lighthouse to be dedicated

SOUTH HAVEN, MICH. - After a year of renovations, painting, and repairs, the light house at the Port of South Haven is complete.

On Wednesday, July 19 the city's historical association will hold a special ceremony for its dedication. The event will start at 7 p.m. at the Brick Plaza on South Beach and at the lighthouse.

More than a thousand people donated to the Save the Light Campaign by buying t-shirts, commemorative bricks, and giving grants. The campaign raised more than $300,000 dollars.

The 114-year-old light house now guards over the port again.
