WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM)-- Two people have been taken into custody relating to the murder of Mashonda Griffin.
Wyoming Police confirm Andrew Neal, 41, and LaCarla McCarty, 35, are both being held on felony murder charges.
35-year old Mashanda Griffin was found Wednesday morning at her home on Union Avenue by an acquaintance and a neighbor.
Griffin's car was later found abandoned in the cemetery located at 2401 Kalamazoo Ave. SE.
The preliminary results of the autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiners Office revealed that the death was the result of asphyxiation by suffocation and strangulation.
Wyoming Police say they worked round-the-clock since Wednesday morning to track down a number of possible leads. A break came in the case Friday afternoon when police say they received information which focused their efforts on Neal and McCarty.
Griffin had worked as a loan officer at Countrywide Financial for 3 or 4 months.
Prior to that she also worked in the financial field. Her boss at Countrywide says Griffin was a model employee and citizen.
He says she was also going back to school to get her Master's degree.
