Kentwood shooting leaves one man injured

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM)- A man has been hospitalized after a shooting in Kentwood.

The incident occured just before 10:30 Wednesday night in the 500 block of Andover.

Kentwood Police say there had been a family gathering when two of the males in attendance engaged in a physical altercation. At some point during the conflict, the suspect assaulted the victim and discharged a firearm.

The victim suffered head injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

He is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and no arrests have been made at this time.
