Spectrum Health employees learn about becoming environmentally friendly.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM)- Spectrum Health is expanding its efforts to "go green" in Grand Rapids and beyond. Spectrum representatives hosted the first system-wide Sustainability Planning Program today. It is the first step to help its 16,000 employees in seven hospitals, and 140 separate sites, leave less of an impact on the environment.
Sustainability Coordinator Josh Miller says, "We're really looking at ways to improve our environmental footprint around design, construction, and operations as well with our facility."
Spectrum will focus on buying more environmentally friendly equipment and materials, as well as develop a standardized approach to making its health care system more "green."
