GRATTAN TOWNSHIP (WZZM)-  A two-vehicle accident in Grattan Township has sent both drivers to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office says that Robby Smith, 18, was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck northbound on Lincoln Avenue, when it appears he lost control and crossed into the southbound lanes.  Jeffrey Wittung, 36, was driving a Pontiac Grand Am southbound.  The vehicles struck head on.  Both men were taken to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened at Lincoln Lake Rd., just North of 6 Mile at around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police say that both men were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
