Brandon Hall, the Grand Haven Area Public Schools trustee convicted of larceny, on March 29, 2010.
Grand Haven, Mich. (WZZM) - A Grand Haven Board of Education member says he will resign Monday, not in September.
Brandon Hall turned in his resignation to the board in April.
Originally, his last day was September seventh, but in an email to WZZM13 news Sunday, Hall says he moved up his resignation date because it's best for the students.
"When headlines are continually about a board member, it's not fair to who really matters in the district," Hall stated in his email. "I learned the hard way when you love something, sometimes you've got to let it go."
The 20-year-old says his relationships with fellow board members dissolved after he was convicted of stealing from an American Cancer Society fundraiser.
The board has 30 days to fill Hall's seat.
