NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WZZM)- Students are Western Michigan Christian High School spent Thursday playing Santa's helpers for ten Muskegon area families.
The high school students spent the month of December raising money for the school's annual "Project Grace" campaign. They raised nearly $4,000 by selling candy and baked goods. Thursday the students spent the money they raised on groceries and gifts.
The school uses the event to teach students about meeting the needs of their community.
"This year we are focusing on being an authentic biblical community. We focus on that inside the school and now we are expanding that. We can help all of these people who are struggling. These families when they get their gifts it is going to be awesome," said Lauren Kimbrough with Western Michigan Christian.
Friday the students will surprise the ten families by delivering the groceries and gifts right to their front doors.
