GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Michigan Republican leaders will rally Monday and celebrate Mitt Romney's selecting Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate.

Many of those GOP heavy hitters will join State Attorney General Bill Schuette at the Kent County Victory center at noon Monday to show support for Romney's VP pick .

The rally is just one of many demonstrations of support the self proclaimed "comeback team" has gotten since Romney announced his choice this weekend.

In a statement, United States Representative Bill Huizenga said: "Governor Romney has made an excellent decision in choosing Congressman Ryan to be his running mate. Congressman Ryan has shown tremendous leadership and vision in the fight to create jobs, rein in Washington's out of control spending and get the nation's fiscal house in order. In the short time I have served with Congressman Ryan, I have gotten to know him well and can definitively say he is one of the smartest, most focused, and disciplined people I have ever met. The Romney-Ryan ticket will focus on creating a pro-growth environment where the private sector will have the certainty necessary to invest, grow, and create jobs. By selecting Congressman Ryan, Governor Romney has demonstrated that unlike President Obama, President Romney will put forward serious solutions to rein in spending and balance the budget."

And, The Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day released the following statement on Governor Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential choice, Congressman Paul Ryan:

"My friend and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan will serve America admirably as the next Vice President of the United States. Today, Americans are starving for leaders who can fix our economy and get our spending under control. Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan have the knowledge, expertise and vision we need to get America working again and get our fiscal house in order. Across the country, Americans are hurting, but America's Comeback Team will offer us a new direction and a brighter future. I congratulate Governor Romney on his excellent decision. This is a great day for Wisconsin and for America," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

"I share the Chairman's enthusiasm for Congressman Paul Ryan. The Romney-Ryan ticket will help get America working again," said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day.

The rally in Grand Rapids is to be held at the Kent County Victory Center at 725 Lake Michigan Drive NW at 12 noon.
