
AUBURN HILLS, Mich (Greenville Daily News) - Another United Solar Ovonic plant could be on the way to Greenville soon.
The Auburn Hills-based company announced during its first Investor Day on Thursday that it is in the "final stages" of selecting a site to build a new solar panel manufacturing plant with the capacity to produce enough panels annually to generate 120 megawatts of electricity.
Mark Trinske, a spokesman with Energy Conversion Devices Inc. (ECD) in Rochester Hills, United Solar Ovonic's parent company, said the company's site selection committee has visited "a number of sites" in and out of Michigan.
