The Red Project combats local opioid crisis in West Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - President Trump has declared the opioid epidemic is a public health emergency.

It's the latest step in the effort to address the growing numbers of people who have become addicted to both legal and illegal forms of opioid drugs. 

Organizations like the Red Project in West Michigan are on the front lines of the battle against this epidemic.
 
We spoke with Brandon Hool who is the overdose prevention program manager for the Red Project
 
According to the organizations' website, the Red Project is a safe place in which people can exercise their right to explore better health choices related to sexual activity and drug use, without judgment and without fear.
