Power restored to thousands of Consumers Energy customers

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - More than 4,000 people were without power early Sunday, Oct. 16, in Grand Rapids and Wyoming. 

The Consumers Energy outage map as of 11:30 a.m. shows most people have their power back on. Most of the outages were confined to an area along Burton Street between U.S. 131 and Division Avenue.

At least 300 customers remain without power. 

There is no estimated restoration time, and the cause of the large outage is not known.
